Astros' Yulieski Gurriel travels to have hand examined
Houston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel has traveled to Houston to have his left hand examined.
Gurriel was scratched from Monday's game for what was described as left wrist discomfort, but it's apparently a more significant issue and Astros manager A.J. Hinch isn't sure what caused it. Any potential time missed would likely lead to Marwin Gonzalez filling the void at first base and Derek Fisher seeing more opportunity in left field.
Gurriel slashed .299/.332/.486 with 18 home runs, 75 RBI, 69 runs scored, and 3 steals in 139 games (564 plate appearances) last season.
