Orioles sign Andrew Cashner to a two-year, $16 million contract
The Baltimore Orioles have signed free agent pitcher Andrew Cashner to a two-year, $16 million contract, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN.
Cashner will join an Orioles rotation that lacks much depth entering the season. In 2017, Cashner logged 166 2/3 innings over 28 starts for the Texas Rangers, while compiling a 3.40 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 86 strikeouts.
Cashner had a solid ERA last season, but a 5.52 SIERA, 12.2% strikeout rate, and 9.1% walk rate doesn't bode well for a repeat in 2018.
