Cards remain optimistic about Yadier Molina's status
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, who has been nursing a thumb injury, responded well after participating in baseball activities Tuesday. The team is optimistic that he'll be ready to go the the National League Division Series.
Molina's production from the plate has been down this year, with his .270 average being his worst mark since 2010 and a .287 wOBA that is his lowest since 2006. His fielding has still been a major plus for the Cardinals though, and his 10.7 defensive runs above average rank second on the team.
