Dan Jennings won't be back as Marlins manager
The Miami Marlins announced Tuesday that manager Dan Jennings will not return for 2016.
The team hasn't yet said whether or not Jennings will move back to his role as general manager, which he held before taking over as manager in May. The team had already been conducting managerial interviews -- while Jennings was still manager -- so this news comes as no surprise.
Granted that the team suffered some key, unfortunate injuries in 2015, whoever takes over will have some work to do. The Marlins finished 25th in wRC+ and 22nd in xFIP. The team will (ideally) have fully a fully healthy Giancarlo Stanton and Jose Fernandez -- which would provide steps in the right direction -- but there is clearly still progress that needs to be made.
