Yankees could bench Brian McCann for Wild Card game
New York Yankees catcher John Ryan Murphy could start over Brian McCann at catcher in Tuesday's AL Wild Card Game.
Houston Astros' starter Dallas Keuchel dominates left-handed-hitters, limiting them to a measly .198 wOBA. The right-handed-hitting Murphy registered a nice .770 OPS versus southpaws this season. McCann wasn't too bad against lefties, though, posting a respectable .324 wOBA.
Even if he didn't start, the lefty-swinging McCann would likely be used as a bat off the bench at some point in the winner-moves-on tilt at Yankee Stadium.
