Cole Hamels tosses three-hit complete game as Rangers clinch West
Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels helped the Rangers capture the National League West title in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels, throwing a three-hit complete game.
Hamels allowed just three hits over his nine innings of work, also striking out eight and walking two. Both runs against him scored in the first inning, when Albert Pujols cracked a two-run home run.
Hamels finishes out the regular season with a 3.66 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 78 strikeouts across 83 2/3 innings since joining the Rangers prior to the trade deadline.
