Yan Gomes sitting out ALDS Game 3 for Cleveland
Cleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes is not in the lineup for Game 3 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees on Sunday.
Gomes knocked in the winning run in the 13th inning on Friday in Game 2, singling in Austin Jackson. However, in the closeout Game 3 in Yankee Stadium, Roberto Perez will return to play behind the plate and hit eighth against Masahiro Tanaka.
Gomes made the best of his first postseason start in 2017, going 2-for-5, with a double, single, RBI, and run scored in the Tribe's extra innings victory on Friday.
