Chris Young replaces Eduardo Nunez (knee) on Red Sox' ALDS roster
Boston Red Sox outfielder Chris Young has replaced Eduardo Nunez on the ALDS roster, reports CSN New England's Evan Drellich.
In case you missed it, Nunez went down as he started out of the box in his first at-bat yesterday in Houston. He had been battling a nagging injury and certainly re-aggravated it in the first inning of Game 1. Young was originally left off the roster, but he was the obvious choice to replace Nunez, who will probably remain out until later in the postseason, pending an MRI.
In 276 plate appearances, Young has slashed .235/.322/.387 with 7 home runs on the year. Even more relevant is the fact that he's a .284 hitter with 3 home runs in 116 career pinch-hit appearances.
