Royals' Danny Duffy undergoes left elbow surgery
Kansas City Royals pitcher Danny Duffy underwent surgery on his left elbow on Tuesday.
Duffy had a "loose body" around his elbow removed. The 28-year-old should have no trouble being full-go by next season, and he's only expected to miss six weeks of the off-season.
After posting a career-best 3.53 SIERA in 2016, Duffy took a step back in the 2017 season, managing a 3.81 ERA, 4.31 SIERA, 21.4% strikeout rate, 6.7% walk rate and 1.26 WHIP, going 9-10 in his 24 starts.
