Javier Baez not in Cubs' lineup for Thursday's series finale
Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Baez is not starting against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.
The Cubs are using their hangover lineup after clinching the National League Central on Wednesday, so Baez will head to the bench while Tommy La Stella plays second base and bats second versus Cardinals right-hander Lance Lynn. Mike Freeman is starting at shortstop and batting eighth.
Baez is averaging 9.9 FanDuel points per game this season while slashing .273/.317/.481 with 23 home runs, 75 RBI, 75 runs scored, and 10 steals across 505 plate appearances (143 games).
