Tommy Pham (side) leaves Cardinals' Tuesday game
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham was removed from Tuesday night's game against the Chicago Cubs, reports MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch.
Pham has been diagnosed with a left side contusion after taking a pitch to the rib area in the bottom of the sixth inning. Stephen Piscotty replaced him in the bottom of the eighth. We can probably expect more on Pham Wednesday.
At age 29, Pham is enjoying a breakout season for St. Louis. He has hit 23 home runs while driving in 73 runs and hitting to a .401 wOBA. His 5.6 WAR is tied for 6th among all NL hitters.
