Oakland's Matt Olson diagnosed with Grade 2 hamstring strain
Oakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain of his left hamstring, reports MLB.com's Jane Lee.
As Athletics manager Bob Melvin previously suggested, Olson will almost certainly miss the rest of the season as a result of the injury. In his stead, Mark Canha will draw some starts at first as the season wraps up.
While posting 24 home runs, 45 RBI and a .411 wOBA on the year, Olson finished the year on a high note, having tallied 13 dingers and 22 RBI with a .456 wOBA in the month of September.
