Daniel Murphy

Nationals' Daniel Murphy (hamstring) expected to return on Wednesday

Washington Nationals manager Dusty Baker expects second/third baseman Daniel Murphy to return to the lineup on Wednesday, according to MASN Sports' Mark Zuckerman.

What It Means:

Murphy was scratched from last night's lineup due to tightness in his left hamstring. But, after a night off, he's expected to be back in as the Nationals meet the Atlanta Braves again tonight. That will likely send Wilmer Difo back to the bench for game two of the teams' three-game set.

Murphy has tallied 22 homers, 88 RBI and a .318 average so far in 2017. According to our models, he's projected for 2 more dingers, 7 RBI and a .333 average over 40 plate appearances the rest of the regular season.
