Padres' Jose Pirela day-to-day with sprained pinkie
San Diego Padres outfielder Jose Pirela has been diagnosed with a mild sprain on his pinkie finger.
Pirela could potentially be available off the bench as soon as Wednesday versus the Minnesota Twins. He's been out since Sunday after jamming his pinkie on a slide into third base.
The 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .288/.347/.490 with 10 home runs and 40 RBI across 344 plate appearances (81 games) this season. Our models currently expect him to return on Friday, and we project him for a .282 batting average in 43 more PA on the year.
