Cubs' Jake Arrieta has Grade 1 hamstring strain

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain.

What It Means:

Arrieta left Monday's start early with pain in his right hamstring. An MRI revealed only a Grade 1 strain, the least-severe, requiring only 7-to-10 days of recovery. He will miss at least one start, possibly two, with Mike Montgomery taking the hill this Saturday in his place.

Arrieta has a 3.48 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 23.4% strikeout rate in 160 1/3 innings pitched this season.
