Rangers' Adrian Beltre to have MRI on strained left hamstring

Texas Rangers third baseman/designated hitter Adrian Beltre will have an MRI on Friday after being diagnosed with a strained left hamstring.

What It Means:

Beltre was lifted in the bottom of the seventh inning during Thursday's contest after injuring himself while trying to make a play on a grounder. If he's looking at an extended absence, Joey Gallo will probably see the majority of time at third base for the Rangers while Shin-Soo Choo handles more DH work and Delino DeShields Jr. plays the outfield.

In 80 games this season, Beltre is slashing .315/.393/.553 with a .946 OPS while recording 16 home runs, 66 RBI, and 44 runs scored across 341 plate appearances.
