Cam Perkins out of Phillies' lineup in first game of Tuesday's doubleheader
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Cam Perkins is not starting against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday afternoon in the first game of a doubleheader.
Perkins will head to the bench for Game 1 after making three consecutive starts in right field for the Phillies. The 26-year-old rookie is 14-for-77 (.182) through his first 35 major league contests. Hyun Soo Kim will start in right field and bat sixth versus Marlins right-hander Dan Straily on Tuesday afternoon.
numberFire's models expect Perkins to improve over the rest of the year, with a projected .217 batting average in only 26 remaining plate appearances.
