Drew Butera absent from Royals' lineup on Monday evening
Kansas City Royals catcher Drew Butera is not starting on Monday against the Oakland Athletics.
Butera will grab a seat on the bench after four straight starts behind the dish for Kansas City. Cam Gallagher will fill the void at catcher in Monday's series opener.
Over 51 games this season, Butera is slashing .270/.323/.365 with a .688 OPS across 125 plate appearances (PA). numberFire's models project him to turn in a .250 batting average in 49 PA over the remainder of the year.
