Devin Mesoraco placed on Reds' paternity leave list
Cincinnati Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco has been placed on the club's paternity leave list.
Mesoraco can be away from the Reds for as many as 72 hours. Reliever Austin Brice was recalled from Triple-A Louisville to provide some depth to Cincinnati's bullpen in the short-term. Tucker Barnhart is starting behind the plate on Monday against the San Diego Padres.
numberFire's models project Mesoraco to turn in a poor .197 batting average with only 2 home runs and 6 RBI in 74 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
