Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar is not in Thursday's lineup.
What It Means:
It's just a day of rest for Escobar, who hasn't missed a game since June 29. Christian Colon is starting at short and hitting ninth.
Escobar owns a lowly .275 wOBA and has swiped only 14 bags after stealing 31 a year ago. He's playing his usual stellar defense, though. Ultimate Zone Rating ranks him as the fourth-best defensive shortstop and 10th-best defender among all positions.
