Giants' Johnny Cueto pulled from rehab start due to forearm tightness
San Francisco Giants pitcher Johnny Cueto was removed from his rehab start Monday because of forearm tightness, the Giants reported.
Cueto, who landed on the disabled list on July 15 due to blisters, was set to be cleared for a Saturday return to the Giants' rotation if all went well in Monday's start. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Further testing on Tuesday should provide some clarity on his status, but the 31-year-old right-hander may be done for 2017.
Through 115 2/3 major league innings this season, Cueto has turned in a 4.59 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 20.4 strikeout percentage with a 6-7 record (19 starts).
