Carlos Gonzalez homers twice, knocks in seven in Rockies' win
Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez had a grand slam, a two-run homer and a sac fly to power the Rockies to a 9-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Gonzalez is the eighth player to drive in seven runs in a game this year. He's now just one away from matching his career high of 34 homers, and with 80 RBI, he has a chance to reach the century mark for the second time in his career.
He started slowly, with a .594 OPS over the first month, but he's been red-hot in the second half. Gonzalez hit .386 in July with 11 jacks and a 1.278 OPS. He added 10 more homers and an .868 OPS in August. Gonzalez ranks 26th in nERD at 2.02. We have him as a solid source of power the rest of the way, projecting Gonzalez for .773 OPS with five jacks and 16 RBI.
