Patrick Kivlehan back on Reds' bench versus Yankees
Cincinnati Reds outfielder/first baseman Patrick Kivlehan is not starting on Wednesday versus the New York Yankees.
Kivlehan made a rare start in left field on Tuesday, but he'll return to the bench this afternoon against right-hander Luis Severino and the Yankees. Adam Duvall is manning left field for Cincinnati while Devin Mesoraco handles designated hitter and Tucker Barnhart takes care of things behind the plate.
In 118 plate appearances (69 games) this season, Kivlehan is slashing .208/.288/.396 with 6 home runs and 14 RBI. numberFire's models project him to turn in a .203 batting average over 72 plate appearances for the rest of the year.
