George Springer (wrist) shooting for Friday return for Astros

The Houston Astros will activate outfielder George Springer (wrist) from the disabled list as soon as Friday.

What It Means:

Springer fractured his wrist in July and has been rehabbing in Double-A, going 4-for-16 during his 4 games played there. He's expected to play his potentially last rehab game Thursday, and if all goes well, could be back with the big league club by Friday.

Springer was on his way to another impressive season before injuring his wrist, posting a weighted on base average of .359, to go with 13 home runs and 14 stolen bases. His 1.35 nERD ranks 59th overall, and the Astros could use his bat in their push for a run at the World Series. Our projections currently give them a 12.1 percent chance to win it all, which is tied for the third highest odds.
