Royals' Alex Gordon has two hits, RBI in first game back
Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in his return to action against the Tigers on Tuesday.
Gordon wasted no time finding ways to contribute, lifting an RBI sacrifice fly in his first at-bat before doubling and scoring in the seventh. The 31-year-old was enjoying another fine season at the plate before a groin strain stole nearly two months from him.
Now healthy, Gordon will carry a .284/.396/.464 line into the season's final month. Our algorithms see his pace slowing a bit with a .250/.350/.400 slash the rest of the way. The Royals currently have the third-best World Series odds in the league at 13.6 percent.
