Elvis Andrus steals home as Rangers top Padres

Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a straight steal of home in Tuesday's win against the San Diego Padres.

What It Means:

Andrus knocked in three runs with a seventh-inning single, though one of the runs came in after the ball was kicked out of the glove of catcher Derek Norris. Andrus stole home off of reliever Kevin Quackenbush. The shortstop has multiple hits in three straight games.

This has been a bright stretch in an otherwise second straight bleak season. Andrus' numbers are nearly identical to his disappointing 2014. He's hitting .262/.307/.357 with a .291 wOBA. We have Andrus posting a .639 OPS with one homer and four steals over the remainder of the regular season.
