Angels activate David Freese, start him at third Tuesday
Los Angeles Angels third baseman David Freese has been activated from the 15-day disabled list, and he is starting at third base Tuesday night.
Freese's return from a non-displaced fracture in his right index finger took much longer than expected, but he's finally ready to go. Freese has been out of the lineup since July 22nd.
Freese wasn't providing a whole lot to the team prior to his injury with a .240/.309/.397 slash and 11 home runs in 353 plate appearances. However, the Angels rank last in the league in wOBA since the All-Star break, so his bat can only help. It just may end up being too little too late as the Angels' playoff odds have tumbled to 12.9 percent according to our algorithms.
