Mark Teixeira (shin) sitting out again Sunday for Yankees
Mark Teixeira (shin) remains out of the New York Yankees' lineup Sunday.
Teixeira has only played in one game out of the last 13, due to a bone bruise. With roster expansion imminent, there's no need for the Yankees to send him to the disabled list, but first baseman Greg Bird's starting job is safe for now.
In 53 plate appearances with the Yankees since his callup, Bird has two home runs, eight RBI, and a .234 batting average. You can ignore him in redraft leagues, but he's worth a stash in Dynasty, as Tex isn't getting any younger or less injury-prone.
