Bauer puts up strong eight innings vs. Angels

Trevor Bauer was excellent in Friday's 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels, firing off eight innings of one-run ball.

What It Means:

It was not quite the typical Trevor Bauer line, as he limited the Halos to just eight baserunners, but he still threw seven strikeouts and got through eight innings with only 101 pitches.

Bauer has now strung together two quality starts in a row, with seven strikeouts each. Of course, in the two starts prior he gave up 11 earned runs in a combined 5 innings pitched, so it's not as though he's reached any sort of new consistency. His next start is a road tilt against the Blue Jays, so it may be best to avoid using him there.
