Dodgers place Puig (hamstring) on 15-day DL
Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Yasiel Puig on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.
What It Means:
The team placed Puig on the DL Friday evening after he re-aggravated the hamstring in Thursday night's game. Infielder Jose Peraza was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.
Puig has played in just 77 games this season and has been a major frustration for the Dodgers and fantasy owners alike. He should have been a fantasy superstar this year, but his 11 home runs and three steals have been all but that. At this point, the 2015 regular season is essentially a lost cause for the Dodgers' outfielder, but the team is making sure he is healthy for a deep playoff run.
