Joey Votto hits two home runs in Reds' loss

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto knocked two home runs on Thursday night in an 11-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

What It Means:

Votto was able to launch a couple of solo shots in the fourth and seventh innings, but the Reds couldn't do much else otherwise. The 33-year-old veteran is second in the National League this season with 23 home runs overall, as well as 57 runs scored (fourth in the NL), and 57 RBI (tied for seventh).

Among all major league players, Votto's 1.040 OPS is second only to the New York Yankees Aaron Judge (1.150). He owns a .308/.424/.616 slash in 340 plate appearances (78 games). Over the remainder of the season, numberFire's models project Votto to add 17 home runs, 53 runs scored, and 53 RBI with a .315 batting average in 336 more plate appearances.
