Braves' Freddie Freeman (wrist) took batting practice Wednesday
Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman (wrist) took batting practice on Wednesday.
This was the first time Freeman has taken batting practice since fracturing his left wrist. So long as he does not feel any discomfort over the next two days, he is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday and hopes to be activated from the disabled list on July 6. He was initially expected to be out until August or close to it, and is hoping to develop as a third baseman as well.
Prior to injuring his wrist, Freeman had tallied 14 homers, 25 RBI and a ridiculous .476 wOBA through 37 games. Upon his return, we expect him to finish the year with 10 more dingers and 31 RBI.
