Dexter Fowler out Thursday for the Cubs in their game against the Giants
Outfielder Dexter Fowler is out of the Chicago Cubs' lineup again on Thursday due to discomfort in his right shin.
Fowler did not play on Wednesday, and the Cubs used Kyle Schwarber as their lead off hitter and left fielder. For Thursday's game, Chris Denorfia will take over both roles, with Schwarber moving to catcher and hitting second.
Fowler has performed admirably as the Cubs' lead off hitter, posting a .349 on base percentage, a .337 weighted on base average, and 17 stolen bases. Hopefully for the Cubs his injury can heal quickly, as Fowler, and his 1.17 nERD, is their best option at the top of the order.
