Yankees officially place CC Sabathia (hamstring) on DL
The New York Yankees placed starting pitcher CC Sabathia on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
What It Means:
Sabathia suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain in his start versus the Los Angeles Angles on Tuesday. Due to the severity of the injury, the veteran pitcher is facing a lengthy absence. The Yankees will have either Chad Green or Domingo German take his spot in the rotation for the next few weeks.
Sabathia had posted a 3.46 ERA with 62 strikeouts in 75 1/3 innings pitched this season.
