Jays' Devon Travis undergoes surgery for cartilage damage
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis underwent surgery to clean up cartilage damage in his right knee.
Travis has been on the DL since June 6 with knee soreness but after the surgery on his knee, the second baseman will be shut down 'for a while' according to manager John Gibbons. Don't expect to see Travis back before the All-Star Break. darwin Barney and Ryan Goins will platoon at second while he is out.
Travis was one of the hottest bats in baseball before going down. He was hitting .352 with a .405 wOBA and 17 runs scored in 114 plate appearances since May 1.
