J.A. Happ (elbow) could be back in Blue Jays' rotation as soon as Tuesday
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ (elbow) could rejoin the rotation as soon as Tuesday versus the Cincinnati Reds.
The Blue Jays may opt to have Happ turn in another rehab start before having him join the big league rotation, but his elbow reportedly looked good after three innings of work on Thursday for High-A Dunedin. Look for the 34-year-old left-hander to be back sometime next week, either Tuesday or later. He hasn't pitched a major league inning since April 16.
Happ twirled a 4.50 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 29.0 strikeout percentage in 16 innings (three starts) this season prior to landing on the disabled list. His 2.13 xFIP is on pace for a career high.
