Brad Hand earns his second save of the year for San Diego

San Diego Padres relief pitcher Brad Hand allowed one run but earned a save in Thursday's 4-3 win over the New York Mets.

What It Means:

Hand allowed one hit, one walk, and one run in the ninth inning as it appears he has taken over the closer's role in San Diego. There are also reports that Hand is drawing trade interest around the league and will likely be on the move before the July 31 deadline. For now, he looks to be the reliever you want in the Padres' bullpen.

Hand has a 2.00 ERA while striking out 11.7 batters per nine innings this season. He is 0-3 with two saves, and one blown save in 27 innings pitched this season.
