Tigers pull James McCann on Thursday with hand laceration
Detroit Tigers catcher James McCann left Thursday's game early with a hand laceration.
McCann was hit by a Mike Fiers pitch in the fourth inning where he suffered the cut to his hand. He was replaced on the basepaths by Alex Avila, who took over catching duties in the bottom half of the inning. The injury appears to be minor but don't be surprised if Mccann gets a day or two off to heal.
McCann was 0-for-2, lowering his batting average to .204 in 125 plate appearances. He does have seven home runs and 17 RBI's this season.
