Tigers will have Buck Farmer start Game 1 of doubleheader Friday
The Detroit Tigers will call up pitcher Buck Farmer from the minors to start Game 1 of their doubleheader Friday against the Chicago White Sox.
Farmer will be used as the team's 26th player, meaning it will be one start and that's all for Farmer. He will be opposed by Mike Pelfrey of the White Sox. Matt Boyd will start Game 2 for Detroit.
Farmer has made nine starts in Triple-A, posting a 4.16 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 54 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings pitched.
