Tanner Roark goes seven strong as Nats beat Mariners

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Tanner Roark allowed one run in seven innings to beat the Seattle Mariners 5-1 on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Roark allowed an RBI single to Robinson Cano in the top of the first but shut the M's down the rest of the way. He gave up eight hits, walked none, and struck out eight as he earned his fourth win of the year. Wednesday was a nice bounce back performance for Roark who allowed seven runs in his previous start.

Roark lowered his ERA to 4.32 with a 1.32 WHIP, 4-2 record, and 50 punch outs in 58 1/3 innings pitched this season.
