Mark Melancon notches ninth save, Giants topple Cubs
San Francisco Giants reliever Mark Melancon recorded his ninth save of the season in Monday's 6-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
What It Means:
Melancon has now successfully converted on all three of his save chances since coming off the disabled list May 17.
The 32-year-old right-hander owns a 2.63 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 19.6 strikeout percentage in 13 2/3 innings (14 appearances) this season. He's 9-for-11 in total save opportunities.
