Tigers make Miguel Cabrera a late scratch from Wednesday's lineup
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was a late scratch from the lineup in advance of Wednesday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Tigers still haven't provided a reason for the late scratch. It's possible that it's only a day of rest for a struggling Cabrera. Alex Avila will start at first and bat sixth versus right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez and the Orioles.
Cabrera is hitting .248 in 120 plate appearances this season with four home runs and 15 RBI's.
