Yunel Escobar (hamstring) will spend next 2-4 weeks on Angels' sidelines
Los Angeles Angels infielder Yunel Escobar (hamstring) is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.
Escobar suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain during Saturday's contest. Jefry Marte, who was just optioned to Triple-A on Sunday due to C.J. Cron's return from the disabled list, will likely be called right back up. Marte and Cron figure to split time at the hot corner for the Angels while Escobar is out.
Escobar has opened the season slashing .272/.324/.411 with a .321 wOBA through 170 plate appearances. He has 5 home runs, 22 runs scored and 17 RBI's.
