Adrian Beltre could make season debut for Texas by end of month
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre (calf) will hopefully be able to return in late May, says general manager Jon Daniels.
Daniels said Beltre still hasn't started running, so any sort of timetable seems more like speculation than anything else. MLB.com's TR Sullivan also reported last week that the 38-year-old veteran likely wouldn't be ready until June. Beltre has been on the shelf all season with a right calf strain and Joey Gallo will continue manning the hot corner for Texas until he's ready to go.
numberFire's metrics currently project Beltre to hit .295 over 340 plate appearances this season with 14 home runs and 50 RBI's.
