Toronto releases Jarrod Saltalamacchia
The Toronto Blue Jays have released catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
What It Means:
This doesn't come as a huge surprise, as Saltalamacchia has been pretty terrible to start the season, striking out 16 times as part of a 1-for-25 showing from the dish.
Saltalamacchia is also coming off of a poor 2016 season, having slashed .171/.284/.346 with a .277 wOBA through 292 plate appearances.
