Rockies activate Ian Desmond (hand) from disabled list
The Colorado Rockies activated outfielder/first baseman Ian Desmond (hand) from the 10-day disabled list.
Desmond is in left field and batting sixth in his season debut for Colorado. The multi-positional player was signed to a five-year, $70 million deal this offseason but broke a bone in his hand after getting hit by a pitch in spring training. He is expected to get a bulk of his time at first base but with David Dahl still on the disabled list and Mark Reynolds raking, he will see plenty of time in left field.
numberFire's algorithms project Desmond for 21 home runs, 65 RBI's, 73 runs scored and a .275 batting average in 523 plate appearances the rest of the season.
