Andrew Triggs racks up a career-high nine strikeouts in A's win
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Andrew Triggs set a personal best with nine strikeouts over seven shutout innings in the A's 2-1 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday.
Triggs got rocked by the Mariners in his last time out, but he rebounded from that poor outing nicely on Saturday with seven shutout innings. It was his first time getting through seven innings as a member of the A's and it's his best strikeout total since he went for eight last season. He has now held his opponents scoreless in four of his last five starts.
Our models project Triggs for a 4.40 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 85 strikeouts over 92 innings remaining this season.
