Mets planning for Noah Syndergaard (biceps) to start on Sunday

New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (biceps) is expected to start Sunday versus the Washington Nationals after getting through a throwing session Friday with no issues.

What It Means:

Syndergaard was scratched from Thursday's start after complaining that he couldn't lift his arm up above his shoulder, due to a biceps strain. However, Thor has apparently healed quickly as he threw a bullpen session on Friday and felt great. He won't officially be given the green light for Sunday until the Mets see how he feels on Saturday. Sean Gilmartin would step in if Syndergaard can't give it a go.

Syndergaard owns a 1.73 ERA, 0.78 FIP, and 2.00 SIERA with 30 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched in 2017.
