Red Sox drop Dustin Pedroia to sixth versus the Cubs
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is batting sixth on Friday versus the Chicago Cubs.
Pedroia has been either first or second in the lineup every game this season and has, in fact, never batted in the sixth spot in his entire career. With Pedroia's drop, Xander Bogaerts is taking over the top spot on Friday versus Jake Arrieta and the Cubs. Pedroia went 0-for-4 on Thursday after missing nearly a week with a leg injury.
Pedroia is batting .242/.311/.258 with five runs scored and five RBI's in 74 plate appearances this season.
