Matt Carpenter hits walkoff grand slam for Cardinals on Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter slugged a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 11th inning Thursday to lead an 8-4 victory in the first game of a doubleheader.
Carpenter hit an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth and then ended the game with his four-run blast in the 11th, finishing 2-for-5 with a walk and five RBI's in the afternoon victory.
Carpenter is slashing .250/.373/.417 with three home runs and 10 RBI's in 18 games this season.
